Educational level

Upper School

Upper School consolidates student’s holistic education, building on the learning achieved in Primary. Its aim is to develop life competencies from a scientific, humanistic, and democratic perspective, fostering adolescent’s personal and social identity in preparation for university.

This stage is strengthened by multilingualism, which enables confident communication and opens cultural and academic opportunities, as well as by projects developed in collaboration with families.

Quality and Innovation

We develop young people with a global vision, strong identity, and commitment to the world.

Upper School (Secondary Level) supports students from Year 6 to Year 11 in consolidating their academic and personal development. Our holistic education fosters autonomy, critical thinking, and a commitment to their surroundings.

Our approach focuses on developing an international mindset and a global vision, fundamental pillars in shaping young people capable of understanding and acting in a diverse and interconnected world. Every learning experience enhances the skills and competencies that distinguish our students and prepare them for the challenges of the future.

English
It is taught using an intensive and immersive approach and serves as the primary language across all academic programmes at this level. Additionally, students obtain international Cambridge certifications from basic to advanced levels (B1 to C2).
French
At this level, students prepare for the official examinations of the French Ministry of Education (DELF A1, A2, B1, and B2), ensuring recognition of their language skills. Additionally, in Years 7 and 8, students study Civic and Moral Education in French as a non-linguistic subject, following the guidelines of France Éducation International.
Chinese
From Years 6 to 9, students continue developing their writing, pronunciation, and reading comprehension skills. Starting in 2026, Lord Byron School will begin preparation for international Chinese examinations. Year 7 students will take the YCT 1 exam, and Year 9 students will take the HSK 1 exam, ensuring official recognition of their language competencies.

We apply what we have learned with creativity, ethics, and teamwork to make a positive impact on our surroundings. This is reflected in large-scale projects such as LBMUN, the celebration of Inti Raymi (cultural identity), and active participation in ADECOPA.
